Move a catalog between environments
Settings → Catalog transfer moves your catalog between environments as a file: products, the feature catalog, monitored assets, suites, plans, add-ons, entitlement offers and rating campaigns. The typical use is promoting a modeled catalog from a sandbox environment to production. (Admin)
Export
Section titled “Export”Export the whole catalog, whole sections, or a selection of individual items. Whatever you pick, its dependencies travel with it — export an add-on, and the suite, plans, products and features it depends on are pulled in automatically.
Compare before you import
Section titled “Compare before you import”On the target environment, load the file and compare it first: the page shows, field by field, what the import would create and what it would change against what’s already there. Review the comparison before applying anything.
Import
Section titled “Import”Import is selective — choose which items from the file to apply — with a create/update mode per item: create what doesn’t exist, update what does. Import is additive: it never deletes local items, so anything in the target environment that isn’t in the file is left alone.
A rating campaign that asks only the customers of chosen offers takes those offers with it. They are matched in the target environment by name and version, and the campaign’s row in the import result says so. If one of them is missing there and not in the file, the campaign is not imported, rather than arriving open to every customer. On a campaign that already exists, the file’s offers are added and the ones only in the target are kept; a campaign there that asks every customer keeps asking every customer.
